Danica Mae De Guzman Antazo
Bio
Ms. Danica Mae De Guzman Antazo is an award-winning concert pianist and one of Sounds Kradle's esteemed piano faculty.
Teacher Danica graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree major in Piano (Cum laude) from the University of the Philippines College of Music in 2017 under the tutelage of Prof. Pia Margarita D. Balasico. A consistent university and college scholar, she was awarded the Regalado Jose Grant and a scholar of the Friends of Cultural Concerns of the Philippines.
Danica has won numerous piano competitions: Third Place, Ensemble Competition of the Piano Teacher's Guild of the Philippines (2013); First Place, National Music Competitions for Young Artists Category B (2014); Third Place, Etude Ko Competition of the Piano Teacher's Guild of the Philippines (2015); Second Place, Saliwan Piano Accompaniment Competition held at the UP College of Music (2015); First Place, Piano Sonata/Sonatina Competition of the Piano Teacher's Guild of the Philippines (2017); Third Place, National Music Competitions for Young Artists Senior Category, and Best Interpretation of the contest piece "Within" composed by Josefino "Chino" Toledo (2017).
Danica was a featured soloist of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Prof. Herminigildo Ranera held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines in 2015. She was also a featured soloist of Steinway Boutique in 2016.
Danica participated in several local and international masterclasses and festivals such as the Music Fest Perugia in Italy, wherein she had masterclasses with Prof. Christopher Elton, Prof. Benjamin Loh, Prof. Mikhail Pethukov, Prof. Pascal Nemirovski and Mr. Sasha Starcevich. She also had masterclasses in Duren, Germany under Dozent Heribert Koch, and in Vienna, Austria under Dr. Milan Franek.
Danica is currently pursuing her Master's degree in Piano Performance at the Soochow University with the distinguished Russian pedagogue Dr. Angela Cholakian, where she is also a scholarship grantee. During her stay as a graduate student, she was chosen as featured soloist of the Soochow University Symphony Orchestra in 2018, and won First Prize in the Soochow University Concerto Competition in 2019.
