Steven Ferrer
Bio
Mr. Steven Ferrer is a concert pianist, arranger, guitarist, and music teacher. He is an esteemed member of the Sounds Kradle piano faculty.
Teacher Steven started learning piano at age 18. He is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Conservatory of Music, and has attended masterclasses with pianists Ross Salvosa, Oliver Salonga, Mariel Ilusorio, and Heliodoro Fiel II.
As a conservatory student, Steven has joined and won in several piano competitions. He recently won 1st Prize in the Piano Teachers’ Guild of the Philippines (PTGP) Filipino Works Competition - Category C, and 2nd Prize in the Etude Competition - Category C (2024); 2nd Prize in the New York Young Performers Prize (NYYPP) College Division (2023); and 1st Prize in the Kayserburg International Piano Competition (Philippines) Open Category (2023).
Besides joining piano competitions, Steven has been a featured soloist in the Manila Pianos Artist Series, performing the Bach Keyboard Concertos with the Manila Symphony Junior Orchestra in 2022. He also took part of the 33rd Sampung mga Daliri Atbp. concert hosted by the UST Conservatory at the Cultural Center of the Philippines in 2019.
Steven was an arranger and guitarist for the orchestra of his alma mater, the San Beda College Alabang Symphony Orchestra. He took an active part in their annual concerts held at the Alabang Town Center and the Cultural Center of the Philippines from 2015 to 2019.
