Karlyne Kimberly Tan
Bio
Karlyne Kimberly Tan is the co-founder of Sounds Kradle Inc. and is one of our pioneer voice faculty. Since our founding in 2012, she has been an advocate of creating opportunities for students and professional musicians to bless their families and spheres of influence through music.
Teacher Kim graduated magna cum laude from the University of the Philippines with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Voice in 2009. As a student leader, she served as Treasurer of the UP Voice and Music Theater Guild (2009-11) and the AUIT Vocal Chamber Ensemble, led by conductor Katherine Trangco Cabral (2006-10). As a student musician, she was involved in opera productions such as Mozart's The Magic Flute, Rossini's La Scala di Seta, Schoenberg's Von Heute Auf Morgen, Puccini's La Bohème, and Adamo's Little Women: An Opera in Two Acts, among others. As a soloist, she has performed under the baton of Dr. Beverly Shangkuan-Cheng, Eudenice Palaruan, Dr. Ramon Santos, and Bernadette de Leon. She also won Third Prize (1996) and First Prize (2002) in the Solo Voice Categories A and B, respectively, of the National Music Competitions for Young Artists.
