Delton John Mahinay
Bio
Mr. Delton John Mahinay is a pianist, choir conductor, and an esteemed member of the Sounds Kradle piano faculty.
Teacher Delton is pursuing his second bachelor's degree in Piano Performance at the University of the Philippines (UP) College of Music, under Dr. Michelle Nicolasora. He had training in piano pedagogy with Prof. Carolyn Cheng (Suzuki method) and Prof. Gemma Malicdem (traditional method). He actively participates in concerts and events hosted by the UP Tiklado, the official student organization of the UP College of Music Keyboard Department.
During his senior year at the Central Mindanao University (CMU), he became choral director of the CMU Music Society, while completing his first degree in Information Technology. He led the group to win Third Place in the Mindanao Association of State Tertiary Schools (MASTS) Chorale Competition in 2014. At the same year, he also led the La Corda Singers, another CMU-based choral group, to win First Place in the CMU Palaro Choral Competition. These accomplishments led him to be awarded as the Performing Artist of the Year at the CMU Annual Recognition and Honors Program in 2015.
Delton had piano studies with Mr. John Manatad, Ms. Re Jean Mae Subigca, and Ms. Joy Abrogueña in the years leading to his studies in UP.
