Angelito Obera, Jr., is one of the newest members of our piano faculty. He is a songwriter and mentor, arranger, and musical director. He is also an Associate Pastor of the Jesus Rock of Ages Ministries, Asia-Ortigas Campus.

Teacher Jhayr completed his Diploma in Creative and Performing Musical Arts in Composition at the University of the Philippines. He has trained in songwriting with some of the country's most accomplished songwriters through workshops such as the FILSCAP Songwriting Camp 2016 (with Jim Paredes, Ebe Dancel, Mike Villegas, and Vehnee Saturno), where his song "Sa 'Yong Tabi" was the GMA Records Top Song Pick; the Jimmy Antiporda Music Production Workshop (2015); the Gary Granada Songmaking Clinic (2014); and the Elements National Singing Songwriting Camp 2013 (with Ryan Cayabyab, Jim Paredes, Noel Cabangon, and Jungee Marcelo), where his song collaboration with Sitti Navarro entitled "Hay! Mabuhay" received the Grand Prize. He has composed, arranged, and scored various songs for Light Network Channel 33, among which are the theme songs for shows Kid HQ, Tiny Kitchen, #PINOY, and SHOUT OUT! Sigaw ng Kabataan!. He was also the musical director of the show This Is My Story, This is My Song (2014-16), which aired in Light TV 33 and GMA News TV 11.
